The Australian Government is proceeding with the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey.
To be eligible to participate in the survey, you must have been enrolled with the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) and eligible to vote by 6pm (AEST) on 24 August 2017. You can check your enrolment by visiting the AEC website (www.aec.gov.au) or by calling +61 6160 2600.
Paper forms will not be posted overseas, however arrangements have been made for eligible Australians travelling or living overseas to participate in the survey.
From 25 September to 20 October Australians overseas will be able to obtain a secure access code via the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey website (https://marriagesurvey.abs.gov.au/) or by calling the Information Line on +61 2 6252 5262. The secure access code is then used to provide an anonymous survey response through an automated telephony service, a secure online form or via a call centre.
